About Us
When you stumble upon an area within your field of medicine that grabs your attention, it transforms your perspective. You become hungry for more information and eager to talk to others about your new found interest. Keen that your enthusiasm will be contagious, and you hope for a revolution in the perspective shared by others.
That’s what the area of human factors in emergency medicine did for me. The past five years I have been consumed by finding ways I can contribute as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Emergency to improving the human factors in our department. This website is a means for me to share my thoughts and devised training games with you all and hope they may help others as I have found them to.

Tanya Boghikian
Tanya has been a registered nurse for 10 years. Having had broad-based training across the acute specialties she has settled on a career in emergency nursing. Fascinated by the diverse patient population within emergency departments and the high fidelity environment in which the teams treat this patient cohort. She became interested in the human factor elements behind the clinical skill and how we can improve as a team ultimately to improve patient care.

Playing the Find and Seek game helped me reorientate the resuscitation bays in my department when I returned from having been away for 12 months on maternity leave.
During my first week of orientation, I was introduced to the Real Human Factors games. The opportunity to continue to play these throughout my emergency department rotation allowed for a better understanding of equipment placement.
